PALM FRONDS
About 20cm (large frond) and 15cm (medium)
Gather your supplies
• General supplies, as needed
• Bamboo skewers
Here’s how
STEP 1 Refer to 5-point Pleated star instructions (page 157) for this project but note that you only require 1 star point for each palm frond. Make as many medium and large palm fronds as desired. For each frond, you will need to cut your equilateral triangles to the following measurements: 40cm sides (large frond) or 30cm sides (medium). Proceed to score and make 1.5cm-wide (large frond) or 1cm-wide (medium) folds in the paper and complete frond/star point, as instructed.
STEP 2 Flip your palm frond over to the wrong side, then hot glue about 2.5cm of the blunt end of a skewer to centre back of palm frond. When glue has set, arrange frond as a base for a beautiful floral centrepiece, as pictured, or poke it into a bouquet of flowers.
Handmade palm fronds in all sizes, colours and patterns will give your celebration table a lush tropical feel
