HERBS THAT LIVE TOGETHER

-

Most herbs are annuals and need sunlight, well-draining soil or po ing mix and regular watering. So, when clustering them, make sure your selections are compatible to make your care regimen easier.

• Pay a ention to your plants’ origins. The Mediterranean is a great source of herbs, including sage, thyme, rosemary, marjoram, oregano and lavender. They all need lots of sun and are drought-tolerant, so grow well together.

• Asian herbs such as Thai basil, coriander and parsley need more consistent moisture. Plant them separately from your Mediterranean herbs.

• Mint is rampant and grows over and into other plants’ spaces, so give it its own pot.
