• When cu ing calla flowers from your garden, pick those already fully open, as they don’t open a er they are cut.

• If there is no pollen on the stamen, the flower is fresh. Once pollen appears, the flower has started to age and won’t stay fresh for long.

• Trim stems to your preferred length with an angled cut, using sharp scissors or a kitchen knife.

• Put in vase with about 5cm of water with flower food – make it yourself with / teaspoon sugar and 1 teaspoon lemon juice in 4 cups water.

• Refresh water daily and remove fading leaves.

• Place out of direct sunlight and away from draughts.

• The flowers last 6-10 days.

Calla’s name comes from the Greek word for ‘beautiful’.
