probiotics and prebiotics TRY
Probiotics are live bacteria that are good for gut health. They are in kefir, yoghurt and other fermented foods such as sauerkraut, kombucha, miso and tempeh. They are readily available in health food shops and increasingly in supermarkets, too. Prebiotics are essentially foods for probiotics. They pass through your stomach and small intestine, then go to work stimulating the growth of good bacteria in the large intestine. Get them from high-fibre foods such as onions, artichokes and asparagus, legumes such as chickpeas, red kidney beans and lentils, and fruit such as watermelon, grapefruit, apples and bananas.
