SEPTEMBER 2022
For you to note
• If you can’t work in an open area outdoors, you can create a spray booth from a cardboard box.
• You’ll need a plastic primer for the animal figurines and an appropriate primer if your jar lids are timber or metal.
• Araldite is a rapid setting, two-part epoxy adhesive you can buy with self-mixing nozzles for easy application.
Here’s how
STEP 1 Wearing a face mask and working in a well-ventilated area on a dropsheet, put animal figurines and jar lids on
scrap timber to elevate. Apply a coat of spray primer. Leave to dry.
STEP 2 Centre figurines on lids and mark around their feet in pen.
STEP 3 Dab Araldite on base of figurine feet.
STEP 4 Position figurines
on marked positions on lids and press down firmly. Leave glue to set.
STEP 5 Spray figurines and lids with metallic paint. Hold can about 20cm from surface and spray smoothly, from side to side. Multiple light coats are better than 1 heavy coat. Leave to dry after each coat.
STEP 6 Fill jars with treats, attach lids and arrange on your benchtop in a group. for SHOPPING Details and PROJECT SUPPLIES, see OUR stockists page
