Peter Hannaford

“WELL we have been in Tasmania now for three years, and just go on loving it more and more.”

Peter Hannaford, originally from Gumeracha in South Australia, but now in Hobart, told us when we shared a cuppa at the Caltex at Epping Forest.

He was driving a DeBruyn’s 2011 FM 450 Hp Volvo at the time towing a Tautliner and was on his way from Parramatta Creek on his return to Hobart having taken a load of fish up to Huon Aquaculture that morning.

“I have been with DeBruyn’s for 18 months now, and they are a great family outfit. Guess I am loving the whole thing, the outfit, the work and living and driving in Tasmania,” he said.

“I moved down here three years ago, after 20 years driving, mainly road trains all over on the Big Island and believe me that’s not all as good as it may sound.

“I reckon we have a really good life now in Hobart, and, with my wife to be, we have also got a rock and roll dance studio up and running called Jitterbugz Dance Academy, and that pretty well takes care of all my spare time as well.”

We note that Peter is getting married on January 13 at Snug, and we would like to join the editor and all the crew at Big Rigs as well as the crowd at DeBruyn’s in wishing the happy couple every good wish for their marriage and for a long and happy future together.
