YOUNG Army private Scott Haskard drives numerous trucks for the army including a Kenworth 909, Mack Superliner and International S-Line.
Aged 29, Pte Haskard has been in the Army for 12 years and was having a rest in the parking area of the BP Cluden on September 16.
He was in an eighties model International and transporting an Infantry Troop Carrier.
“I am based in Brisbane and picked up the carrier at High Range Training Area near Townsville and am taking it back south,” he said.
Outside work his hobbies include motorbikes and 4WD vehicles in the Brisbane area.
Having done several trips recently between Brisbane and Townsville, Pte Haskard said ignorant caravan drivers proved challenging.
“Just a few days ago one was doing 60km/h in a 100 zone and we couldn’t pass then it sped up to 105km/h,” he said.
