“I WILL put the stock crate on when I get back home, and look forward to getting warm and dry on a day like this.”
Paul Tate from Runnymede told us when he rolled into the Caltex at Epping Forest the other day in his 2010 FM 11 410 Volvo tandem rigid for a hot cuppa.
He had been carrying wool up to Evandale and would then be going back to his regular work of carrying stock again.
“Yes, Sarah Woodruffe, originally from Taranaki in New Zealand, is happily still with us, she is pretty well a permanent part of our operation now days, and Ben is still happily working as a stock agent too,” he said.
“I’ve been on the road for pretty well a lifetime, mainly carrying livestock in combination with running the farm.
“It works well, and I’d have to say I still enjoy it, with no real regrets. As for time off, you ask? Well what is that! Whenever I do get some time off, I try to spend it with the grandchildren!”
