Milestone for $13M estate

Big Rigs - - NEWS -

CONSTRUCTION of the $13.3 million Road Train Assembly Area is nearing completion at the new Truck Central Estate in Wishart.

The assembly area is a key component of the $52 million Truck Central development which is under construction at the corner of Tiger Brennan Drive and Wishart Rd.

NT Road Transport Association executive officer Louise Bilato said the Road Train Assembly Area would be an “extremely valuable asset improving both safety and productivity for the road transport industry”.

The Assembly Area will provide 55 heavy transport parking bays, including 17 bays for triple road trains and a further 11 wider bays for the reconfiguration and assembly of trailers.

The Inspection Facility has been designed to accommodate fully configured 53.5m triple road trains at the same time.

This allows truckers to efficiently meet their inspection compliance requirements without losing time disconnecting and reconnecting trailers.

Truck Central is scheduled to open for business this December.
