Tim Rigby

GREAT to catch up with Tim Rigby from Deloraine when he dropped in to the Caltex at Epping Forest for a quick cuppa and a break.

He was driving a Rayner Transport 2017 CF 510 Hp, 16 speed Daf 105 and towing a tri-axle drop deck Tautliner at the time.

“I’m on my return leg back to Launceston after cruising down to Hobart and surrounds carrying general freight, and surely enjoying the sunshine,” he said.

“I started out with Chris seven years ago working in the warehouse, but finally got up in to a truck and out on the road driving three-and-a-half years ago, and I’m still loving it, the feeling of freedom, changing scenery and all that fresh air at last!”

He told us they now have four “105” Dafs now, and with the bigger engines they pull much better.

“You certainly notice the difference on the hills,” he said.

“It makes driving a real pleasure and I am honestly loving the job, and especially these runs to Hobart.”

He told us he spends his time off volunteering at the RSL with camping and fishing whenever the opportunity arises.
