Not about saving lives
RE: Report released by the NSW Auditor-General Margaret Crawford about speed camera warnings
IT’S NEVER been about saving lives. It’s about money, lots and lots of free money.
I rang highway patrol about a car travelling in excess of 150km/h near Goulburn.
Response, yeah will get someone to have a look.
I travelled the whole trip into Sydney, not one, not one highway patrol car in sight.
I used to be able to travel from Melbourne to Sydney and literally be able to step on the roofs of highway cars all the way up... now, I can go weeks without seeing a highway car parked up.
Highway cars are actually given taskings now by the government, usually tasking them away from hot spots... that’s not safety, that’s bloody stupid.
I am seeing more and more risk taking on major highways now, then I have throughout my entire driving career, people know the highway cars aren’t out there any more.
Cameras are the governments way of getting everyone, just not the stupid ones.
