Yogi plans to fight $1500 fine
IT’S TIME for a new licence for truck drivers.
That was one of the thoughts Glenn “Yogi” Kendall of Kendall Trucking and Co and Outback Truckers fame had on his last segment of The Big Rigs podcast.
Each week Yogi shares his thoughts in a segment called Five Minutes in a Parking Bay with Yogi.
He spoke about his most recent fine - not a work diary infringement, but a fine for driving “on or over the solid edge line” underneath a Safe T Cam.
He said he drove over on the line so he wouldn’t crash into a car that had moved into his lane.
“I couldn’t do anything about the car that was borderline encroaching into my lane,” he said.
The fine was almost $1500 and four points.
Fed up with the huge penalties, he suggested maybe truck drivers would benefit from their own professional licence that holds more points than regular drivers.
Yogi said he would be fighting the fine.
“It’s just one of those things in life and I’m going to be fighting it.”
