IT WAS a case of back to the future for Bryce Shaw and the team from Wagga Trucks at the Henty Machinery Field Days, with a 1989 V8 Mack Value Liner taking pride of place on the company’s impressive display.
Bryce is one of the managing directors of the family-run company, which was established in 1997 and holds the franchise for Volvo, Mack, UD and Hino trucks, servicing a large area from their headquarters on the Sturt Highway.
With 17 trucks on show at Henty, the company uses the event to showcase its product lines to a wide audience.
“We’ve been doing this long-term,” Bryce said.
“The crowd is good and it’s good for a customer catch-up.”
The Value Liner was owned and operated by State Forests of NSW, based in Tumut, hauling a float around its various plantation sites in the western Snowy Mountains before being purchased by the dealership in 2016.
“It’s been rebuilt by the boys in the workshop, it’s a bit of a hobby truck and everyone in the workshop has got involved,” he said.
The big Mack was also booked in for a run through Wagga as part of the Riverina Convoy for Kids in early November.
