AS MOST of you read this, it will be De­cem­ber and hope­fully for many, an op­por­tu­nity for some qual­ity time off the road over Christ­mas and the new year.

Be­hind the scenes there are teams of vol­un­teers plan­ning and or­gan­is­ing some of the many truckin’ good in­dus­try events that are com­ing up early in the new year.

Here’s a growing list of some of the 2019 shows.

Jan­uary 12 and 13, 2019: Gee­long Clas­sic Truck and Ma­chin­ery Show

■ WHERE: Gee­long Show­grounds, Vic­to­ria

THE show is renowned for hav­ing the big­gest and best dis­play of re­stored work­ing vin­tage ma­chin­ery and trac­tors in Aus­tralia and at­tracts peo­ple from all over this coun­try and even quite a few en­thu­si­asts from over­seas.

For its fifth year in a row, the Vin­tage Trac­tor Pull re­turns to the Gee­long Clas­sic Truck and Ma­chin­ery Show for 2018.

Jan­uary 19, 2019: Tooradin Trac­tor Pull, Truck and Car Show

■ WHERE: Rut­ter Re­serve, South Gipp­s­land High­way, Tooradin, Vic­to­ria

THE Tooradin Trac­tor Pull and Truck Show has been an an­nual event since 1998 and has grown into a fab­u­lous fam­ily day packed with lots of fun things to see and do.

Jan­uary 26 and 27, 2019: Al­lora Her­itage Week­end

■ WHERE: Al­lora Show­grounds, New Eng­land High­way, Al­lora, Queens­land

THE Her­itage Week­end is held ev­ery year on Aus­tralia Day long week­end.

The event will in­clude a swap meet and fea­ture Cham­ber­lain and Cater­pil­lar trac­tors, Chrysler cars, Volvo and Eu­ro­pean trucks, Mof­fat Virtue En­gines, air cooled en­gines and Tri­umph Mo­tor­cy­cles.

March 2 and 3, 2019: Al­tona Truck and Trade Show

■ WHERE: Mel­bourne Ball­park, Al­tona, Vic­to­ria

March 16 and 17, 2019: 8th Aus­tralian White Truck Muster

■ WHERE: Kyabram Show­grounds, Kyabram, Vic­to­ria

EN­THU­SI­ASTS can come and dis­play their trucks, trac­tors, crawlers, cars, White sew­ing ma­chines and mem­o­ra­bilia.

This event is open to any ve­hi­cle man­u­fac­tured or mar­keted by White or White owned com­pa­nies in­clud­ing Au­to­car, Cle­trac Crawlers, Di­a­mond Reo, Di­a­mond T, Eu­clid, In­di­ana, Minneapolis – Mo­line, Oliver, Reo, Rex, Rollin, Ster­ling White, Western Star, and White Freight­liner. But other makes of trucks are also wel­come.

The week­end will fea­ture White and as­so­ci­ated truck brands as well as all other trucks, buses, cars, trac­tors and mem­o­ra­bilia dis­plays.

March 31, 2019: 32nd Pen­rith Work­ing Truck Show

■ WHERE: Mu­seum of Fire, Pen­rith, New South Wales

BACK for its 32nd year, the an­nual show is cel­e­brat­ing an­other huge day of non-stop en­ter­tain­ment, rides and unique ex­hibits that com­bine to­gether to cre­ate this spec­tac­u­lar show.

Recog­nised as one of Western Syd­ney’s ma­jor an­nual events with 20,000 peo­ple en­joy­ing a friendly fam­ily day show­cas­ing the best of the trans­port in­dus­try.

May 16 to 19, 2019: Bris­bane Truck Show

■ WHERE: Bris­bane Con­ven­tion and Ex­hi­bi­tion Cen­tre, South Bank, Bris­bane

IT’LL be the largest truck show in Aus­tralia in 2019.

June 2, 2019: 9th An­nual Syd­ney Clas­sic and An­tique Truck Show

■ WHERE: Mu­seum of Fire, Pen­rith New South Wales

CLAS­SIC trucks, buses, fire en­gines and ve­hi­cles of yes­ter­year from across the coun­try are be­ing gath­ered to be on dis­play at the Mu­seum of Fire. The show has trucks from the solid rub­ber bone­shak­ers of 1914 through to the kings of the high­way of the 1960s and 1970s, fire demon­stra­tions by Fire and Res­cue NSW, amuse­ment rides, as well as an op­por­tu­nity to take a jour­ney back in time with a ride on a vin­tage dou­ble decker bus.
