TOP TRUCKIN’ THINGS TO DO
AS MOST of you read this, it will be December and hopefully for many, an opportunity for some quality time off the road over Christmas and the new year.
Behind the scenes there are teams of volunteers planning and organising some of the many truckin’ good industry events that are coming up early in the new year.
Here’s a growing list of some of the 2019 shows.

January 12 and 13, 2019: Geelong Classic Truck and Machinery Show
■ WHERE: Geelong Showgrounds, Victoria
THE show is renowned for having the biggest and best display of restored working vintage machinery and tractors in Australia and attracts people from all over this country and even quite a few enthusiasts from overseas.
For its fifth year in a row, the Vintage Tractor Pull returns to the Geelong Classic Truck and Machinery Show for 2018.
January 19, 2019: Tooradin Tractor Pull, Truck and Car Show
■ WHERE: Rutter Reserve, South Gippsland Highway, Tooradin, Victoria
THE Tooradin Tractor Pull and Truck Show has been an annual event since 1998 and has grown into a fabulous family day packed with lots of fun things to see and do.
January 26 and 27, 2019: Allora Heritage Weekend
■ WHERE: Allora Showgrounds, New England Highway, Allora, Queensland
THE Heritage Weekend is held every year on Australia Day long weekend.
The event will include a swap meet and feature Chamberlain and Caterpillar tractors, Chrysler cars, Volvo and European trucks, Moffat Virtue Engines, air cooled engines and Triumph Motorcycles.

March 2 and 3, 2019: Altona Truck and Trade Show
■ WHERE: Melbourne Ballpark, Altona, Victoria
IT’S open from 9am on both days and will feature trucks, entertainment and trade displays. Go to www.truckandtrade show.com.au for more.
March 16 and 17, 2019: 8th Australian White Truck Muster
■ WHERE: Kyabram Showgrounds, Kyabram, Victoria
ENTHUSIASTS can come and display their trucks, tractors, crawlers, cars, White sewing machines and memorabilia.
This event is open to any vehicle manufactured or marketed by White or White owned companies including Autocar, Cletrac Crawlers, Diamond Reo, Diamond T, Euclid, Indiana, Minneapolis – Moline, Oliver, Reo, Rex, Rollin, Sterling White, Western Star, and White Freightliner. But other makes of trucks are also welcome.
The weekend will feature White and associated truck brands as well as all other trucks, buses, cars, tractors and memorabilia displays.

March 31, 2019: 32nd Penrith Working Truck Show
■ WHERE: Museum of Fire, Penrith, New South Wales
BACK for its 32nd year, the annual show is celebrating another huge day of non-stop entertainment, rides and unique exhibits that combine together to create this spectacular show.
Recognised as one of Western Sydney’s major annual events with 20,000 people enjoying a friendly family day showcasing the best of the transport industry.
May 16 to 19, 2019: Brisbane Truck Show
■ WHERE: Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, South Bank, Brisbane
IT’LL be the largest truck show in Australia in 2019.

June 2, 2019: 9th Annual Sydney Classic and Antique Truck Show
■ WHERE: Museum of Fire, Penrith New South Wales
CLASSIC trucks, buses, fire engines and vehicles of yesteryear from across the country are being gathered to be on display at the Museum of Fire. The show has trucks from the solid rubber boneshakers of 1914 through to the kings of the highway of the 1960s and 1970s, fire demonstrations by Fire and Rescue NSW, amusement rides, as well as an opportunity to take a journey back in time with a ride on a vintage double decker bus.
TRUCKING EVENTS: Trucks from all eras are always well worth getting along to see.
