Freight ally comes to the rescue
MELBOURNE- company Freight Assist Australia was quick to come to the aid of those employees facing an uncertain future in the wake of the Redstar collapse.
Brendan Tate, executive business manager for the nationwide bulk transport and logistics provider, tells Big Rigs that his company has a number of openings that could assist those in need.
“To see 400 jobs go before Christmas like that is just devastating,” Mr Tate said.
“I really feel for the guys who have lost their roles.”
He said news like this sends a message throughout the industry that you can’t keep driving prices down without repercussions.
The Freight Assist roles include those for interstate drivers based from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.
There is also an opening for a Brisbane-based HR driver and possibly one for an MC licensee.
