Freight ally comes to the res­cue

MEL­BOURNE- com­pany Freight As­sist Aus­tralia was quick to come to the aid of those em­ploy­ees fac­ing an un­cer­tain fu­ture in the wake of the Redstar col­lapse.

Bren­dan Tate, ex­ec­u­tive busi­ness man­ager for the na­tion­wide bulk trans­port and lo­gis­tics provider, tells Big Rigs that his com­pany has a num­ber of open­ings that could as­sist those in need.

“To see 400 jobs go be­fore Christ­mas like that is just dev­as­tat­ing,” Mr Tate said.

“I re­ally feel for the guys who have lost their roles.”

He said news like this sends a mes­sage through­out the in­dus­try that you can’t keep driv­ing prices down with­out reper­cus­sions.

The Freight As­sist roles in­clude those for in­ter­state driv­ers based from Syd­ney, Bris­bane and Mel­bourne.

There is also an open­ing for a Bris­bane-based HR driver and pos­si­bly one for an MC li­censee.
