Old Guns gain a classy vic­tory

Although the Is­landers con­tinue their reign over beach vol­ley­ball, the Old Guns are still hot on their tail af­ter a straight-sets vic­tory over Vol­ley­ball is Life on Wed­nes­day, April 18.

As com­pe­ti­tion gets closer to the fi­nals, it was clear teams were hun­gry to rack up some valu­able wins be­fore the fi­nals se­ries kicks off in June.

Vol­ley­ball is Life kicked off the open­ing set with an early lead thanks to some great pass­ing and block­ing.

How­ever, the Old Guns did not miss a beat, and quickly took the lead and ran with it to win the first set.

The sec­ond set had a very even start as Vol­ley­ball is Life got into their groove, pro­duc­ing some fan­tas­tic ral­lies be­tween the two teams.

It was clear Vol­ley­ball is Life were putting the pres­sure on the Old Guns as play­ers would make des­per­ate leaps in hopes of keep­ing the ball up.

In the end, the Old Guns were un­flap­pable un­der pres­sure as they won the sec­ond set.

The Old Guns con­tin­ued their hold over the match as they dom­i­nated the fi­nal set, earn­ing them the straight sets vic­tory de­spite Vol­ley­ball is Life’s ef­forts.

Else­where, Al­ter­na­tive Facts suf­fered a nar­row loss to young up­starts Sandy Pan­cakes, and Set for Life had a for­feit vic­tory over Knocked Up.

The Sandy Bad­gers picked up a di­vi­sive vic­tory over Sta­ble Odds and the Is­landers’ win­ning streak con­tin­ued as they held off the Beta Blockers.
