Pan­cakes bat­ter Sta­ble Odds to win

The Sandy Pan­cakes felt any­thing but flat af­ter a hard-fought 2-1 win over Sta­ble Odds on May 9.

Both teams have been con­sid­ered un­der­dogs this sea­son, with Sta­ble Odds look­ing to notch some more wins and the Sandy Pan­cakes look­ing to ce­ment a place in the fi­nals se­ries.

It was a fairly even start to the match, with the teams match­ing each other point for point as they got into their re­spec­tive grooves.

The Sandy Pan­cakes took a nar­row lead thanks to good pass­ing and con­sis­tent serv­ing, lead­ing them to win the first set.

That mo­men­tum con­tin­ued into the sec­ond set when they took the early lead, only for Sta­ble Odds to creep up from be­hind.

How­ever as the set pro­gressed, fun­da­men­tal er­rors ended up cost­ing Sta­ble Odds as the Sandy Pan­cakes won the sec­ond set.

Another bat­tle en­sued in the fi­nal set, and spec­ta­tors were given an en­ter­tain­ing show thanks to the ban­ter among the Sandy Pan­cakes.

Sta­ble Odds man­aged to win the third set as it came down to the wire late in the set.

Else­where, the Is­lan­ders con­tin­ued their un­de­feated streak with a 3-0 win over Al­ter­na­tive Facts, Set for Life man­aged an up­set win over the Old Guns, Vol­ley­ball is Life held off Knocked Up and the Beta Block­ers de­feated the Sandy Bad­gers 3-0.
