Thu 31 May – Ordinary Meeting of Council
Shire of Broome Council Chambers, 5pm. An Ordinary Meeting of Council is held on the fourth Thursday of each month. The community is invited to attend, and Public Question Time is held at the start of the meeting. Tues 5 – Thurs 7 Jun - National Native Title Conference
Cable Beach. In its 40th anniversary year, the Kimberley Land Council has been selected as co-convenor of the 2018 National Native Title Conference. The conference will be staged by AIATSIS, together with the KLC, and hosted by Yawuru. The event coincides with the 40th anniversary of the KLC’s formation at Noonkanbah – the site of one of the most significant land rights disputes in Australia’s history. With over 800 delegates from around the country, the conference is one of Australia’s largest gatherings of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the native title sector.
