Free pre-cy­clone waste drop off

The Shire is of­fer­ing two week­ends of free house­hold waste drop off at the Waste Man­age­ment Fa­cil­ity to help pre­pare for cy­clone sea­son. This year, the an­nual pre-cy­clone waste dis­posal week­ends will be 27-28 Oc­to­ber and 3-4 Novem­ber and is avail­able to res­i­dents, in ad­di­tion to the six free waste passes sup­plied each year to ratepay­ers. There will be no kerb­side col­lec­tion. El­i­gi­ble items in­clude white goods; scrap metal; fur­ni­ture and mat­tresses; e-waste; bat­ter­ies; green waste and tim­ber; and oil. Items NOT el­i­gi­ble in­clude tyres and car parts, gas bot­tles, as­bestos, paint, liq­uid waste, chem­i­cal or haz­ardous waste; com­mer­cial and de­mo­li­tion waste; flares; and fire ex­tin­guish­ers. The Waste Man­age­ment Fa­cil­ity is open 7.30am to 3.30pm Satur­day and 8am to 2pm Sun­day. Se­niors and res­i­dents with mo­bil­ity lim­i­ta­tions can re­quest help to re­move items from their prop­erty by con­tact­ing the Shire Of­fice. Lim­its ap­ply.
