Interclub bragging rights DERBY FISHING

Broome Advertiser - - Sport - Sara Hennessy Sara Hennessy is the president of the Mary Island Fishing Club in Derby.

It is interclub time on November 2-4.

Entries are due in by this Saturday at Big Barra’s or Tackle World Broome.

This is one of the best fishing weekends away and it is important that Derby reclaim the interclub trophy, not just for Derby’s honour but for the mental health of the Broome crew.

One good win against Derby last year has obviously gone to their heads and they are in a delusional state of believing that “the Fitzroy River belongs to the Broome Mob”, quoting from Wes Francks’ column last week.

SDWK passports will be issued to all Broomies at the Interclub briefing. Sledging aside, hope to see you all there, representing your home towns.

Aaron Doust, 12, with a smashing Giant Threadfin Salmon caught on the Fitzroy River on October 13.
