Community member dies in rollover at One Arm Point

Broome Advertiser - - News -

Police say a man killed at One Arm Point early Saturday was a member of the community.

The crash happened on the access road to One Arm Point indigenous community, known for its views of the Buccaneer Archipelago.

The incident was reported to authorities about 9am on Saturday but police believe the black Nissan Navara hit trees before rolling at least four hours earlier.

“The driver, a 46 year-old man from the One Arm Point Community, died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash,” a police spokesman said.

“He was the sole occupant from the vehicle.”

Police said there were no witnesses to the crash so it was unclear what happened but officers are investigating.

The road was closed in both directions.
