FRANCHISE RATING STATUS UPDATE

In addition to new reviews in progress, FRANdata is about to commence the annual review of ratings assessed in 2019 under the Franchise Rating Scale.

These reviews will include a review of the initial and anticipated impacts from COVID19 on both the trading performance of individual units and the overall franchisor financial performance.

While the impacts of COVID-19 are clearly severe, and the data sample is still relatively small, we are seeing a large variance in the impacts on different industries and in some cases different units within the same franchise system.

On completion of these reviews (and the new assessments being finalised) participating franchise systems will be issued a revised 2020 rating logo to reflect their current status.
