EVA AIR will reduce services to Los Angeles and San Francisco from October 25 to November 10 this year due to flight rotation. On the Taipei Taoyuan-Los Angeles route, the Taiwanese carrier will reduce operations from 17 to 10 weekly. On the Taipei Taoyuan-San Francisco route, it will reduce frequencies from 12 to 10 weekly. www.evaair.com
KOREAN AIR has entered into a codeshare agreement with Czech Airlines for the Incheon-Prague route. Korean Air already flies to Prague on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Under the codeshare agreement, Korean Air’s “KAL” code will appear on Czech Airlines-operated flights on the same route on Tuesdays and Sundays, thus offering passengers six flights a week. The codeshare flight will depart at 1245 and arrive in Prague at 1650. Eventually, Czech will add a service on Thursdays in order to make the flight a daily service. www.koreanair.com
Taiwan-based CHINA AIRLINES has launched direct flights to Honolulu and increased frequencies to Bangkok, Nanchang, Fukuoka and Kuala Lumpur. Previously, China Airlines only offered flights to Hawaii via Tokyo. The new service, operated twice a week by an A330, departs Taipei on Wednesdays and Sundays. www.china-airlines.com
QATAR AIRWAYS has begun a new route between Doha and Basra – the second-largest city in Iraq. The new service flies four times a week – on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. This increases Qatar Airways’ total frequencies to Iraq from 12 to 16 a week. The new service departs Doha at 0725 and arrives in Basra at 0905, while the return leg leaves at 1005 for a 1145 touchdown in Qatar. The new route is operated by a two-class A320 with 144 seats – 12 in business and 132 in economy. www.qatarairways.com
