Does anyone else feel the need to workout while travelling? I was disappointed during a recent ten-hour wait that I could drink, eat, have a massage, shop… but not exercise! Surely there must be at least one airport with a fitness centre?

Many – it’s called walking to the gates and not using a moving walkway!

You forgot the health benefits of hauling/ carrying baggage.

Hauling/carrying luggage is an interesting one – until recently, I would agree with you. Now, everything apart from a music player and headphones and paper/book gets checked. I no longer bother hauling a bag on board but just budget for an extra 30 minutes waiting for my cases. Means I can power walk to the gate…

Singapore has a gym and swimming pool.

Zurich has an airport gym. Geneva has one in the Starling Hotel and a huge pool just four minutes’ away by free shuttle.

Munich, Dubai and Toronto Pearson airports all have gyms, and Dallas Fort Worth and San Francisco both have yoga rooms.
