VANTAGE POINT Gateway Hotel

-

Gateway Hotel, one of Hong Kong’s most established names in hospitality, has recently introduced a brand new point of view in a 360-degree redesigned property with a totally innovative design concept. All of the 400 rooms have been renovated to offer contemporary décor, sophisticated touches and stylish comfort.

The hotel is part of a trio by Marco Polo Hotels Group that also includes Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel and Prince Hotel. They are part of retail, dining and entertainment complex Harbour City on Canton Road, a prestigious commercial strip in Hong Kong’s Tsim Sha Tsui District and the city’s answer to Rodeo Drive.

Being at the junction of Canton and Haiphong Roads, the hotel is only less than 10 minutes’ walk away from the MTR, while key transport hubs China Ferry Terminal and Star Ferry are located on the two opposite ends of Harbour City and also within walking distances. This means that guests can easily get to their meetings around Hong Kong as well as in Macau and other ports in the Pearl River Delta area. Airport Express Kowloon Station is also just a short cab ride way.

Many landmark attractions are nearby as well. Start with a walk to the waterfront along the Victoria Harbour, where one can admire the famous skyline of Hong Kong Island. Or walk down Haiphong and head to the 13.3-hectare Kowloon Park, one of the largest green spaces in the territory. Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Space Museum and Hong Kong Cultural Centre, where many critically acclaimed plays and classical concerts take place, are also reachable on foot.

But staying indoors can also be a treat. An urban sanctuary, Gateway Hotel’s sleek interior evokes a residential feel. All rooms and suites feature a 40-inch flatscreen TV, Nespresso coffee machine and iHome Docking station, as well as power sockets throughout for guests to keep their gadgets charged. Wifi is complimentary in the entire hotel.

Each suite offers the transformative pleasure of a rain shower and built-in bathtub in the newly designed marble bathroom. The top three floors of the hotel are the Continental Club, where guests enjoy access to the exclusive Continental Club Lounge that serves complimentary daily breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails.

All guests have access to the swimming pool at Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel and 24-hour gym at Prince Hotel, which can be reached from Gateway Hotel through the climate-controlled retail corridors in Harbour City.

Being in one of the world’s culinary capitals, the hotel spares no effort in its food and beverage offerings. On the third floor is Three on Canton, an impressively designed 20,000 square feet dining hotspot where the trendy set go to wine, dine, relax and network.

Freshly prepared dishes from action stations encompass cuisines of China, Italy, Japan and Southeast Asia, and include such famous dishes as Peking Duck. The seafood counter, on the other hand, is virtually a maritime festival.

Other than the restaurant, there are four exclusive function rooms coded in colours represented by the restaurant’s logo, namely Noire, Ocher, Fuchsia and Turquoise, which are ideal for private events. The wine room, Jiu, and stylish cocktail lounge and bar provide cosy ambiances.

Completing the package is the al fresco dining terrace Be on Canton, which offers a resort-like atmosphere and a menu featuring tapas and gourmet bar snacks, matched with fine wines, spirits and cocktails handcrafted by the stationed mixologist.

The name says it all – Gateway Hotel is your entry point to a quintessential Hong Kong experience.
