AIR FRANCE will be increasing flight capacities to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore in anticipati­on of rising demand during the 2014 summer season.

AIR CHINA has begun flying to Osaka from Tianjin via Dalian. Starting May 5, BRITISH AIRWAYS will be increasing the frequency of its London-Chengdu service to five times weekly, and will be flying it with a Dreamliner.

CATHAY PACIFIC will stop services to Jeddah at the end of this month, and Abu Dhabi for “commercial reasons”. The schedule to Bahrain, meanwhile, will be increased to daily with a stopover in Dubai.

EMIRATES has launched the first ever regular A380 service to Barcelona. The superjumbo replaces the Boeing 777-300ER on the daily Dubai to Barcelona service.

ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES is to deploy a B787 Dreamliner on a new daily route from Addis Ababa to Shanghai Pudong, starting from March 29.

MALAYSIA AIRLINES will cancel its Los Angeles service from April 30, after almost 30 years operating the route.

V AIR is the name that has been picked for the hotly anticipate­d low-cost carrier from TRANS ASIA AIRWAYS. Vietnam intends to sell stakes of a number of state-owned companies later on this year, which will include its national carrier VIETNAM AIRLINES. VIRGIN ATLANTIC will terminate its Sydney route with effect from May 5.
