ART TAIPEI 2014: Unmissable!

-

After a long and exhausting flight it’s understandable that you might want to relax in your hotel or take a hot spring bath and let all the hassles just evaporate away. Instead, be inspired and refreshed by Art Taipei, the longeststanding art fair in Asia, where you will encounter distinguished works of art from 145 galleries worldwide.

Artworks featured include those from Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Marc Chagall and Gerhard Richter, the renowned contemporary art master from Germany. The Frankfurt-based op-artist Tobias Rehberger’s works also make an appearance, as do the much sought-after abstract works of China’s Sanyu and Zao Wou-Ki.

Aside from these masters are the high profile Asian artists who are making waves in the region, such as Japan’s avant-garde Yayoi Kusama; Korea’s Kim Tschang Yeul, famed worldwide for his water drop series; Chen Chieh-jen, a frequent guest at international biennials in recent years; Nikki Luna, an artist from the Philippines famed for creating works of art from daily objects; and the textile artist Jakkai Siributr from Thailand.

This year’s Art Taipei slogan is “Dear Art” – the opening phrase of a letter, which is intended to lower the anxiety that art can bring about and inspire the courage to have a conversation and explore today’s possibly unfamiliar world of art. Art Taipei represents the start of an understanding, as well as a long-term relationship. Art Taipei is a festival you can’t miss if you visit Taiwan. Come and join us and enjoy the charm of art!
