Seoul Convention Bureau Support
Readers interested in SMA services can contact the Seoul Convention Bureau (SCB) for assistance with finding SMA businesses relevant to event planners’ needs, whether they be meeting or incentive-based. SMA members also regularly join SCB promotional activities overseas, including industry exhibitions such as IT&CMA and CIBTM, as well as promotional roadshows. Other SCB services and support for international events held in Seoul include:
Financial: Seoul offers subventions based on specific criteria for international conferences and corporate meetings held in the city. Please contact the SCB directly for more information.
Bidding Support: the Seoul Convention Bureau Bidding Clinic provides bid preparation assistance, one-on-one presentation workshops, and consultation on bidding strategies. The SCB also assists with venue recommendations, city tours, and site inspections of business events infrastructure and local attractions. Accommodation and transportation costs will be covered for board members in Seoul conducting event feasibility studies. In addition, the SCB can provide a letter and video message of support for proposed events from the mayor of Seoul and the CEO of the Seoul Tourism Organisation.
Promotional Support: the SCB provides a range of promotional materials, including a Meeting Planners Guide, digital promotional content and a Seoul Welcome Kit, comprised of a Business Travellers Guide, postcards, and a coupon book. The SCB can also arrange for event “welcome messages” to be promoted on Incheon International Airport’s digital displays at the baggage carousels free of charge.
Operational Support: the SCB maintains the Seoul Convention Supporters, a highly trained and dedicated pool of multilingual personnel chosen from convention-related departments of universities able to provide operational assistance for international congresses or other events upon request. Half of the daily rate for use of the Supporters at events is covered by the SCB. For more information, please visit www.miceseoul.com or email us at mice@seoulwelcome.com
