More than 80 per cent of today’s business travellers want to focus on their health and wellbeing, but many can’t find the time to do this. At The Westin Bund Center Shanghai, it’s easy. For the past decade, wellness has formed a core ethos of the brand and now a US$15 million campaign is putting this philosophy centre-stage. Business travellers can rest assured their extra needs will be welltended to, thanks to the “Six Pillars of Wellness” initiative.

Move well: The WestinWORKOUT gym is a great option for a traditional workout, with a full range of equipment and 24/7 availability. For guests who prefer something different, the runWESTIN initiative is perfect. Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, the dedicated running concierge takes guests on a 5K run– highlighting artistic, historical and natural points of interest along the way. Forgotten your trainers? No problem, the hotel has partnered with New Balance to introduce a Gear Lending programme, so guests can borrow shoes, disposable insoles or a complete set of apparel.

Sleep well: The groups iconic Heavenly Beds has been lauded as one of hospitality’s greatest inventions, with guests claiming “it’s like sleeping on a cloud”. All guestrooms at the Westin Bund Center Shanghai now feature the latest version, with mattresses comprising ten layers and 999 coils, down duvets and 250-thread count sheets. The only problem is guests may not want to get up! The hotel has also completed the refurbishment of its Crown Tower rooms, with a more streamline appearance, newly added data ports for enhanced work and entertainment options, and comfortable sofas to relax.

Eat well: Westin has become the first hotel brand to partner with SuperfoodsRX to create special health-focused menus, meaning guests can enjoy delicious food that fuels the body with rich antioxidants. It’s the ideal solution for business travellers, who often struggle to find healthy options to eat on-the-go. The hotel has even prepared a SuperfoodsRX coffee break, which is the perfect option for meeting planners. The Juicery is another new choice for healthconscious guests, with tasty smoothies packed full of crucial vitamins and enzymes.

Feel well: A signature white tea scent, contemporary music, and hostesses in qi pao await each guest as part of the Westin Sensory Welcome experience, complete with a warm towel and a cup of refreshing elixir. Additionally, every guestroom features an exclusive rain shower and Heavenly Bath, with White Tea Aloe bath amenities, Braziliancombed cotton bath sheets and custom designed bathrobes, to ensure guests start the day feeling pampered and invigorated.

Work well: All 570 guestrooms have been carefully designed with ergonomic work desks and facilities to suit business travelers and provide a better work environment. Newly added data port allows you to plug your electronic devices to charge and work via the TV screen. Westin clutter-free meetings help guests stay productive and organized. Streamlined stations provide paper, pens, glasses, water and other thoughtful touches, keeping the main work area open and clear. Double-sided notepads and water pitchers in lieu of bottled water, help eliminate waste and reduce consumption. Wireless internet is available in the whole hotel.

Play well: Everyone needs a little downtime, and what better way to maximise your days off than by taking advantage of the Westin Weekend. These signature experiences have been carefully planned to let guests explore the area with zero hassle. The new digital destination guide, Westin Finds from Afar, also provides guests with uniquely curated travel experiences.
