European Luxury In Beijing

Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center, with 480 new rooms and suites as well as exceptional MICE facilities, unveils its USD 30 million renovation

Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center, Beijing’s first European hospitality pioneer, has unveiled the transformation of its 480 new rooms and suites after the most substantial renovation in its 26-year history. These include a western and oriental presidential suite, a new large Executive Lounge, and a new all-day dining outlet.

The hotel is conveniently located in Beijing’s thriving lifestyle, diplomatic, and upper residential district next to the head offices of Fortune 500 companies, embassies, international schools, and renowned shopping centers.

The first phase of the US$30-million renovation brings international leisure and business guests timeless elegance, while providing Beijing with a rejuvenated complex that aims at reinterpreting European luxury in modern China. The hotel has long been a preferred local destination for high-level diplomatic and embassy events, official government summits and state visits.

“Kempinski has gone to great lengths in its renovation to blend the hotel’s dual heritage: European, as Kempinski Hotels have been hoteliers since 1897, and Chinese, as this has been the first Kempinski hotel in China,” said managing director Brice Péan.

The new portfolio of rooms and suites displays a decor that aims to convey the contemporary elegance of China and its cultural influence. Sandy European and classical beige colors and hues adorn the walls and furniture, while art pieces, antique decorations, and colorful vases add breathtaking brushstrokes of Asian identity.

New executive lounge haven

The hotel’s new Lounge 15 is an oasis for the business-minded traveller. Perched among the hotel’s top floors and overseeing Beijing’s city skyline, the lounge offers everything from an open kitchen breakfast buffet with a live-cooking station to afternoon tea, happy hour, and cook-to-order dinner.

Adding to the Executive Floor’s flair and sense of personalised service is the access to a private butler, on call 24/7. All of the hotel’s butlers have undergone a special training by the Dutch Royal Butler program.

Exceptional MICE facilities

In the following months, the enhancement of the hotel’s two large private gardens will pave the way for an even more spacious oasis to hold outside events and private gatherings.

“With the hotel’s new rooms, suites, restaurant, and massive pillar-free ballroom, we have everything we need to hold some of the biggest meetings, host some of the city’s biggest events, and accommodate all types of leisure, business, or diplomatic travelers,” says Péan.

A valued part of the community

The Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center takes a personal approach to its social activities and has a highly-regarded standing in the community. The hotel is the place to see and be seen in the city, with its signature events, including its Vienna Ball, Shake Beijing music festival and Oktoberfest.
