Sunshine Coast Daily - Caloundra Weekly - - LIFE -

BEK-JEAN Stewart and her band, the Appaloosa Orchestra of the Boulevard, will be playing at the opening of the new Town Square in Palmwoods on Saturday, December 9.

Bek-Jean and the band will be launching her fourth solo album, Records are Written in the Bones.

This spirited and emotionally rich album is a follow to her previous album Amos V Ann.

Bek-Jean’s musical career began in the early 1990s when she was the lead singer and principal songwriter of the indie darling band, Eva Trout.

She has been working as a solo artist since 2007, when her album Junior Years was celebrated by critics here and overseas.

Americana UK declared the album “a superb rejoinder to Ryan Adams’s Heartbreaker”.

Bek-Jean’s music and songwriting is both uplifting and heartbreaking.

Her songwriting reflects her passion for the natural world and her gift for poetry.

With refreshing honesty and insight, through songs of love and heartbreak, her music will move you through the full range of human emotions.
