THE first of its kind on the Sunshine Coast, the Adventure with Dementia group has proven to be a much-needed support for many Coast residents living with Younger Onset Dementia.

Launched last year, the joint venture through Alzheimer’s Australia (Qld) and Bromilow Home Support Services provides a supportive framework, with co-ordinated activities to help improve the quality of life for those diagnosed with Younger Onset Dementia.

Initially funded by Buderim Foundation, the group facilitators are now actively seeking financial support to ensure this valuable community group remains active, supported and operational throughout 2018 and beyond.

Adventure with Dementia members are challenged within their capabilities and participate in a wide range of physical activities including kayaking, ten pin bowling, drumming and various outdoor adventures.
