Located in the picturesque rainforest surrounds of Spicers Tamarind Retreat, The Tamarind Restaurant offers a cross-border Asian dining experience like no other. This award winning destination is renowned in the Sunshine Coast region for creating spectacular dishes that delicately balance the sweet, sour and salty flavours of Asia.
Executive Chef Dan Jarrett has created a new family-style menu, designed to be shared by diners and inspired by the traditional Thai meal. Signature dishes such as the crispy fried whole fish remain on the menu, while new dishes such as Bang Bang Chicken and braised and charred octopus sit alongside a range of dishes, including those featured in the Chef’s Selection menu. The peaceful surrounds are perfect for a lazy breakfast any day of the week, where guests can choose from a selection of gourmet breakfast options to be enjoyed overlooking the rainforest on the deck. If you prefer some live entertainment then a long, lazy Sunday lunch accompanied by our Jazz in the Forest - the first Sunday of the month - may be more your style.
If the food at The Tamarind has you inspired, you can learn to recreate the tastes of Thailand at The Tamarind Cooking School. With four hour long courses focussing on French, Italian and (of course) Thai cuisines, you can learn from our chefs before enjoying your meal with a glass of wine. Short demonstration classes in dumplings, desserts and the perfect BBQ are also available.
