Tales told from the heart with top ac­tor

SUN­SHINE Coast Li­braries in­vite avid read­ers to en­joy a morn­ing with pop­u­lar Aus­tralian ac­tor and au­thor William McInnes at the Caloun­dra RSL from 10.30am on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 12.

This spe­cial lit­er­ary event is part of a se­ries of Sun­shine Coast Li­braries au­thor events hosted at var­i­ous lo­ca­tions across the re­gion.

William will talk about his lat­est book, Fa­ther­hood: Sto­ries About Be­ing a Dad,

life as an au­thor and his ex­pe­ri­ence as an award-win­ning stage and screen ac­tor.

Fa­ther­hood is warm, witty and nos­tal­gic, with tales about fam­ily and mem­o­ries of child­hood.

William is con­sid­ered one of Aus­tralia’s best sto­ry­tellers and this book guar­an­tees both hi­lar­i­ous and poignant mo­ments.

His books in­clude the best-sell­ing mem­oirs A Man’s Got to Have a Hobby

and That’d Be Right.

In 2012, his book Worse Things Hap­pen at Sea,

co-writ­ten with his late wife Sarah Watt, was named the best non-fic­tion ti­tle in the ABIA and Indie Awards.

William is also known for his lead­ing roles in Blue Heel­ers, SeaChange, My Brother Jack, Deep Wa­ter

and Rake.

He has won two Lo­gies and an AFI Award for Best Ac­tor in the film Un­fin­ished Sky.

A se­lec­tion of William’s books will be avail­able for pur­chase at the venue.

Tick­ets are $20 per per­son and book­ings are es­sen­tial via coun­cil’s li­brary web­site.

William will be joined by spe­cial guest, Chan­nel 7 News pre­sen­ter, Katie Toney.

En­joy live mu­sic by ta­lented lo­cal artist Pep­per Jane.

Light re­fresh­ments will be pro­vided at 10.30am for an 11am start.
