Festival back in fashion

Runway action kicks off tomorrow

Sunshine Coast Daily - Caloundra Weekly - - LIFE | WHAT’S ON -

THE Sunshine Coast International Fashion Festival is ready for its 11th year, with final preparations underway before it kicks off on October 19.

What began as a one-off event, took on a life of its own, moving from a very heavy focus on local fashion labels with one high profile guest, to an event that showcases more interstate and international labels than ever before — the majority of which are not showing anywhere else in Australia.

A new venue at The Sebel, Pelican Waters, lends itself to a new direction for the event.

With the 2018 theme being “curated”, a greater diversity in brands, looks and higher quality than ever before will be experienced across three shows — Swimwear and Resort, Ready to Wear and Couture — and the recently announced Australian Men’s Fashion Week show.

The Sunshine Coast Style Awards, and the Sunshine Coast Design Awards and Hall of Fame move to the Friday evening timeslot with drinks and nibbles.

The Trade Lounge is open to non-ticket holders all day from 9am-3pm, after which it becomes the exclusive domain of ticket holders, media and industry who can shop wholesale for most brands.

With guests staying onsite, mingling and networking by the pool, on the terrace, by the many waterfalls and at the bar, everything happens in one gorgeous location.

More than 19 labels will be on display during the festival and two award shows will also be held.

The Sunshine Coast International Fashion Festival aims to deliver a full fashion week experience in just 24 hours.
