Re­launch of choir on the Coast

THE cham­ber choir Women of the Sun al­ready have a solid core of ded­i­cated women that travel from as far away as Bris­bane, Wood­ford, Witta, Cooroy and Noosa and they’re look­ing to in­crease their num­bers.

They are seek­ing new singers 17 years and above that want to be part of a sup­port­ive vir­tu­osic women’s en­sem­ble of 24-32 singers based on the Sun­shine Coast and work­ing to­wards pre­sent­ing the reper­toire out­side of the re­gion to Bris­bane and be­yond.

In 2019 they will be pre­sent­ing two pro­grams.

The first will be a gen­eral pro­gram cov­er­ing a wide range of mu­si­cal pe­ri­ods and styles in­clud­ing the works of Hassler, Schu­bert, Brahms, Casals and oth­ers in­clud­ing Gy­orgy Or­ban’s

The sec­ond con­cert will be a pre­sen­ta­tion of English choral mu­sic fea­tur­ing Brit­ten’s pop­u­lar and Holst’s ethe­real
