PET SUB­JECT: Sun­shine Coast Coun­cil has kicked off its Pet Ed­u­ca­tion for Kids pro­gram, de­signed to help chil­dren un­der­stand how to in­ter­act with dogs safely. The free pro­gram is of­fered to all Sun­shine Coast child­care cen­tres, preschools and kinder­gartens with chil­dren aged be­tween 3-5 years. Pre­sented by the coun­cil’s pet ed­u­ca­tion of­fi­cer, with the help of trusty side­kicks, Sunny the cat and Sasha the dog, the fun and in­ter­ac­tive pre­sen­ta­tion helps to teach chil­dren about be­ing a re­spon­si­ble pet owner and how to avoid be­ing bit­ten by a dog.
