THE annual visit from Poppy Pete has become a tradition over the past five years at Beerwah Kindergarten.

The owner of Pete’s Plant Hire has been visiting the kindy since his eldest grandchild Lily attended and was taught by co-director Rebecca Mackintosh.

Poppy Pete brings along two of his “diggers” for the children to explore and since Lily graduated to primary school, her younger siblings Izaiah and Elizabeth have attended.

This year, their youngest brother William was proud to have his Poppy visit.

What made this year’s visit extra special is that Pete is retiring this year and selling his business.

Miss Beccy said Poppy Pete’s visits always created excitement and had become “a highlight” of the visitor calendar.

“Families play such an important role in our kindy and we welcome and value input from all stakeholders.”
