Players lift for real competition
CONGRATULATIONS to all of Caloundra’s Elite Tennis International’s orange ball players on the term one competition.
Many of these players were playing their first real scoring tennis matches and their court awareness, confidence in their scoring ability and general hitting quality improved enormously.
In the end, Isabella Welsh was the outstanding player of the term, leading all the way. As far as we can remember she finished with the biggest winning margin of any past winner.
Isabella finished on 70 points, 16 points clear of Luke Dixon who finished runner-up. If we went down another 16 points we would land at the 15th placed player, showing the margin of Isabella’s win.
Miki Ely finished in third spot with 52 points and then the greatly improved Madelyn Cairns on 52.
We have a new king of red ball tennis. Ryan White has won his first Friday night Pizza Capers Red Ball competition. Ryan finished with a total of 240 points for the term, which equates to the amount of actual tennis points won over the duration of the comp.
Ashton Moore came in second on 232 with some fantastic tennis all term. Piper Gregson was third on 219, with Tyler Moser fourth on 217.
This competition is a great introduction to match play and is run so well by coach Jenny and her amazing helper Eva.
Well done to all players on a great season, with special thanks to Kim and the team at Pizza Capers for all their support. All players from the two comps can see the final leader board at elite tennisinternational.com. To get involved phone 5491 8487.
BIG WIN: Orange ball winner for term 1 Isabella Welsh.
