Sunshine Coast Daily - Caloundra Weekly - - NEWS -

THE University of the Sunshine Coast is offering a $1500 bursary to recognise the efforts of students who contribute to an inclusive culture on campus and awareness of issues which affect people of diverse genders and sexualities.

Student Access and Diversity manager Veronica Sanmarco said the bursary, to be introduced for the first time in semester two, was another way for USC to support the LGBTIQ-plus (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer) community.

“USC is committed to the principles of equity, fairness and inclusivity,” she said.

“We want all of our students to learn, live and work free of prejudice and discrimination.”

Applications for the bursary close on May 31.
