SEAGATE AND DJI CREATE ON-LOCATION WORKFLOW FOR CAMERA DRONES
DIGITAL STORAGE EXPERTS
Seagate and drone manufacturer DJI have collaborated to develop the LaCie DJI Copilot, which is designed to allow the easier management and back-up of image files and video clips while flying on location.
LaCie DJI Copilot enables drone users to quickly ingest and review their content in full resolution without a PC. This includes the playback, copying and managing of drone footage from the Copilot BOSS (Back-up On-Set Solution) app by LaCie on a mobile device without the need to leave the field or boot up a computer. Users can also quickly connect and reference the built-in screen to initiate direct file transfer from an SD memory card to LaCie DJI Copilot – without the need of a laptop or a mobile network. The built-in power bank also allows mobile devices to be recharge on the go. With 2.0 TB of data storage, the LaCie DJI Copilot allows users to store up to 60 hours of 4K 30 fps video footage and over 20,000 RAW image files. The LaCie DJI Copilot is available now in Australia priced at $549.95.
Also new from Seagate is the LaCie Rugged RAID Pro heavy-duty portable hard drive. Encased in the signature orange rubber shell, the LaCie Rugged RAID Pro offers up to 240 MB/ second transfer in RAID 0 and RAID 1, giving the security of a second copy in the field, as well as when transporting content back to the studio. An integrated SD card reader allows users to quickly offload content with the quick import toolkit. The Rugged RAID Pro is designed with the latest USB-C connector and is compatible with nextgeneration Thunderbolt 3 computers, but also backward compatible with USB 3.0. While the drive is protected against shock, crush, dust and moisture, LaCie still provides a three-year limited warranty with its ‘Rescue Data Recovery’ services plus a one-month Adobe All-Apps Plan – including for Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe Illustrator CC. The LaCie Rugged RAID Pro with 4.0 TB of storage is available now in Australia priced at $549.95.
Another new version of LaCie’s popular Rugged portable drives is the LaCie Rugged Secure. This is the first Rugged drive to include hardware encryption using Seagate’s Secure technology. It is again built to withstand operation in extreme conditions such as sub-zero temperatures, but has the added benefit of allowing users to control access to their content. Disconnecting the Rugged Secure from a computer automatically locks the drive, and access to data stored will remain password-protected via new Toolkit software. The LaCie Rugged Secure with 2.0 TB of storage is available now priced at $219.95.
