No eligible finalists this year

It seems reasonable that D-SLR model cycles may lengthen now that Canon and Nikon are otherwise occupied at the upper end of the ILC market. We still think there will be further evolutions of the Nikon D5 and Canon EOS-1D X Mark II flagship D-SLRs for the working photographers who still feel more comfortable with a reflex, but semi-pro models – like the EOS 5D IV and D850 – look certain to be under threat from the new generations of full-35mm mirrorless cameras… which means there will never again be quite as many candidates in any one year for this category.
