Exposure control:

Camera - - FIRST LOOK -

As with any mirrorless camera, the exposure metering is sensorbased and employs 384 zones for evaluative, selective area, spot or centre-weighted average measurements. These drive a standard set of ‘PASM’ exposure control modes with an AE lock, up to +/-3.0 EV exposure compensation and auto bracketing. Metering range is EV -3.0 to 20 at ISO 100. Exposure adjustment increments adjustable to one-half or one-third stops. ‘Scene Intelligent Auto’ mode automatically sets a subject program based on analysis of the AF, AE and white balance measurements. Canon’s E-TTL II auto flash metering is maintained, but the EOS R body only has a hotshoe for flash sync.
