This next one goes out to all you farmers
Nanneella's Brett Gledhill has organised a night of music and entertainment on Saturday, August 20, to help local families get their minds off the current dairy crisis.
A NIGHT of family fun is on in Nanneella next week to help district farmers and residents forget about their stresses for a few hours.
Band The Mudslingers will be at Nanneella Memorial Hall on Saturday next week to provide music and entertainment, with event-goers also being treated to a supper.
Organiser Brett Gledhill, pictured, said the rationale behind the occasion was simple.
‘‘We wanted to organise this as a community night for everyone and to give people a chance to break away from the stresses of life for one night,’’ he said.
‘‘It’s no secret there has been a downturn in the dairy industry and a lot of local businesses are struggling.
‘‘We used to run these sort of events years ago and thought it was time to do it again.’’
Mr Gledhill said it was shaping up to be a lot of fun, particularly because The Mudslingers played a lot of 1980s and 1990s music and enjoyed a strong following in the area.
‘‘It’s a good opportunity for people to come along and enjoy some good music,’’ he said.
The event kicks off at 7.30pm, with tickets priced at $15 for adults, $10 for high school students and $2 for primary school students and under.
People are welcome to bring their own drinks.
Nanneella Hall Committee has organised the event.
