LOCK­ING­TON-BA­MAWM United hosted Leitchvill­e-Gun­bower on Satur­day in the sec­ond semi-fi­nal in the Heath­cote Dis­trict Foot­ball League un­der 17s.

The win­ners seal­ing a seat for the grand fi­nal.

The Cats be­gan their cam­paign strong, com­ing out of the blocks de­ter­mined, with yap around the ground and en­cour­ag­ing each other.

Dy­lan Keath’s big voice de­manded the ball while Ricky Walsh showed clever foot­work around the goal to put the Cats two goals in front at the end of the first quar­ter.

The Bombers chipped away in the sec­ond, mak­ing the con­test and work­ing hard around the mid­dle to be six points in front go­ing into the long break.

Nikoli Hen­ery was im­pres­sive, with his hard work pay­ing off, mov­ing the ball out of dan­ger with a huge boot onto James Gled­hill, who found Pres­nell.

Play con­tin­ued down the flank with Tom Wild tak­ing a run, kick­ing to Tyler Sin­clair and onto Ricky Walsh who kicked truly.

The third term saw Cal Pow­ell and Jeremy Felm­ing­ham work tire­lessly, try­ing to min­imise the dam­age, with the Bombers cre­at­ing space and in front by three goals go­ing into the fi­nal term.

A fi­nal push saw the boys give a his tar­get of Will big ef­fort in the last, fo­cussing and want­ing the ball.

How­ever, it wasn’t enough, with Leitchvill­e-Gun­bower win­ning by 12 points.
