Tigerettes produce clean sweep

THE Rochester Tigerettes had a spectacula­r round this week with all five grades taking the win against Mansfield.

The under 15s started off the day in style dominating the game from the beginning.

The girls came out firing in the first quarter and never let the intensity slip.

Gemma Marsh was superb in wing defence, shutting off her player and working the ball down the court.

Defenders Eliza Williams and Matilda Lockyer worked tirelessly together in the goal ring taking strong rebounds and intercepts.

The girls finished off just as strong as they started and took the easy win 65-14.

Best: Gemma Marsh, Eliza Williams, Matilda Lockyer.

The under 17s had a great game and combined well all over the court.

The team’s defence end worked well together putting enormous amounts of pressure on the attackers.

Rosy Miechel and Lana Marsh were instrument­al in defence, taking intercepts and turning the ball over.

Annie Hughes and Tess Teggelove worked together well in goals and shot with great accuracy.

The girls worked hard all game and were rewarded with the win 59-31.

Best: Rosy Miechel, Lana Marsh and Tess Teggelove.

B-reserve girls showed great drive from the first whistle and they didn’t lose the intensity all game.

Goalers Grace Bubb and Ella Marsh were synchronis­ed under the ring and shot accurately.

Defenders Eliza Watson, Grace Wachter and Grace Ingram were persistent; creating lots of turnovers through intercepts and rebounds.

Players, Kate Else and Gabby McCaig were pivotal in driving the ball through the mid court, creating some great passages of play.

B-reserve coaches Brittany Hercus and Maddie Egglestone were very pleased with the 22-goal win 50-28.

It was a tough game from the first quarter for the B-graders with both teams competing strongly and finishing off accurately in the goal ring.

The defenders stepped up in the second quarter with Jamie Dingwall and Zali Hocking continuall­y repelling the ball back into the attacking end to help give the girls a lead of 10.

The goaling combinatio­n of Brittany Hercus and Alyse Nalder found their rhythm and Lil Ward and Jamiah Clarke combined well to feed to the goalers.

Sarah Ingram defended well all game in WD to assist a final score win of 47-39.

Best: Jamie Dingwall, Lil Ward and Zali Hocking.

It was a great fast start to the game in A-grade and the Tigerettes were on fire.

Morgan Dingwall and Sahra Brooks combined well in goals and both had their eye in the ring early on.

Bridgette Holt was out hunting for any floating balls across the ring in defence.

Shannen Keath worked overtime in WD cutting off many drives and passes.

Eesha Clarke and Ellie Cuttriss worked well together in the mid court, feeding to the goalers with ease.

Maddy Egglestone was rebounding anything that was missed.

Brielle O’Mera came on in the last quarter and made an impact to the game.

Great effort by the whole team, coming away with a 16 goal win 46-30.

Best: Morgan Dingwall, Sahra Brooks and Maddy Egglestone.

Let’s hope the Tigerettes can continue their great form into the next round against Tatura away next week.
