EMERGENCY crews were on the scene last Tuesday at the Rochester Recreation Reserve for the 20th annual Farm and Road Safety Expo.
It was a day of fun and learning for school students from around the district who had the opportunity to talk to police, SES, paramedics and 23 other exhibitors who taught children all about safety.
“It went really well and there was a lot of positive feedback,” Rochester Rotary Club president Heather Watson said.
“Every exhibitor that attended said they were really happy with the turnout.”

safe practices to relay to their parents and put into action at home.
“We don’t have parents come along and so it’s about getting the kids to go home and ask mum or dad about their fire plan and other things,” Heather said.
“It’s an important day and we always get between 700-1000 students each year. But we’d love to see more secondary schools getting on board.
“Also, we get a wide cross-section of exhibitors but we’re always looking for more.”
