Two cars, tools stolen from Rochester
TWO cars and thousands of dollars’ worth of equipment have been stolen in two burglaries across Rochester.
Thieves broke into Paul Evans Welding in Lowrie St overnight Friday by forcing open a door and stole a Mazda single cab ute and assorted tools.
The grey 2010 Mazda, registration XRE747, is worth about $5000.
Thieves also targeted Graham Nelson Motors in Moore St overnight Saturday.
A Mitsubishi Pajero, electrical equipment, including computers, keys to new cars and cash were stolen.
The white 2008 Pajero, registration XO7254, is valued at about $35,000.
Detective Senior Constable Bernadette Waddington of Campaspe Criminal Investigation Unit said it was hard to say whether the burglaries are related.
She appealed to anyone who had seen the cars or had information about the burglaries to contact Echuca police on 5483 1500 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
