Two cars, tools stolen from Rochester

TWO cars and thou­sands of dol­lars’ worth of equip­ment have been stolen in two bur­glar­ies across Rochester.

Thieves broke into Paul Evans Weld­ing in Lowrie St overnight Fri­day by forc­ing open a door and stole a Mazda sin­gle cab ute and as­sorted tools.

The grey 2010 Mazda, reg­is­tra­tion XRE747, is worth about $5000.

Thieves also tar­geted Gra­ham Nel­son Mo­tors in Moore St overnight Satur­day.

A Mit­subishi Pa­jero, elec­tri­cal equip­ment, in­clud­ing com­put­ers, keys to new cars and cash were stolen.

The white 2008 Pa­jero, reg­is­tra­tion XO7254, is val­ued at about $35,000.

De­tec­tive Se­nior Con­sta­ble Bernadette Wadding­ton of Cam­paspe Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tion Unit said it was hard to say whether the bur­glar­ies are re­lated.

She ap­pealed to any­one who had seen the cars or had in­for­ma­tion about the bur­glar­ies to con­tact Echuca po­lice on 5483 1500 or Crime Stop­pers on 1800 333 000.
