THE DEBS HAD A BALL
THE 2018 debutantes came dressed to dazzle, and that’s exactly what they did.
THIS year’s Rochester Debutante Ball was another glittering success, with 19 couples showing up in their debutante best.
Hosted by Rochester Hospital Auxiliary on September 21, all funds from the annual event went to Rochester and Elmore District Health Service (REDHS).
Practice for the event kicked off in mid-June, with dance choreographer and instructor Leon McAsey taking the reins and turning left feet into finely tuned dance steps.
This year’s theme was eclectic, with bicycles and the quote “life is a beautiful ride, enjoy the journey” the focus.
Organiser Kate Lee said the auxiliary was committed to fundraising throughout the year, hosting many social events with all funds helping to purchase health aids and equipment for REDHS.
“This will be the third debutante ball hosted by the Hospital Auxiliary for REDHS and this year 19 very excited debutantes and their partners were presented,” she said.
“This great traditional event is still embraced by our local community and celebrates our future generation stepping out into the big world.”
