Innes makes a splash with her water wise mug
RIGHTFUL and resourceful water usage is particularly important for everyone to understand in this time of drought — especially coming into the summer.
Colbinabbin Primary School has based part of their curriculum on sustainability and as part of their lessons, students partook in Goulburn Valley Water’s Water Wise Week competition.
Grade four student Innes Downie has taken out the grade three and four division of Goulburn Valley Water’s Water Wise Week competition with her beautiful mug creation.
Innes, like students from 40 other schools, designed a mug promoting the water wise message. This was completed at Colbinabbin Primary as part of their ResourceSmart sustainability curriculum.
Innes was very excited to receive a $100 JB HiFi voucher and a $50 Collins bookstore voucher.
Colbinabbin Primary School have also been awarded their fourth star in the ResourceSmart Schools Sustainability Certification program.
This star recognises that the school is “sustaining” its approach to environmental education.
ResourceSmart Schools take action to minimise waste, save energy and water, promote biodiversity and take action on climate change to benefit their school and community.
